Embrace and Heal Your Whole Self.

Do you struggle with feeling like you don’t deserve good things in life?

    • Dread settles in your gut seeing how the world seems to be going backwards with LGBTQIA+ rights.

    • Coming out to new people feels like a gamble. All you want is to feel accepted, but the fear of backlash often feels stronger.

    • You’ve tried talking to therapists about being queer before, but you got the ick from something they said and never went back.

    • People try to change you when you bring it up rather than listening to understand. You hear statements like “You just haven’t found the right one yet” and “What about having children or dying alone?” all the time.

    • Feelings of isolation creep in when you realize how few representations there are of  people like you and the kinds of relationships you crave.

    • You feel like a burden whenever you try to set boundaries about sex and romance with current or potential partners.

    • Nightmares and scary memories constantly interrupt your sleep and waking moments, reminding you of all the pain.

    • Trusting people is complicated. You want good relationships, but the fear that someone will hurt you gets in the way of you letting people get close.

    • You don’t know what it’s like to feel “normal”. Relaxing feels impossible, because you’re always on high alert looking for things that are wrong or seem off.

At the end of the day, you just want to feel okay with existing in the world.

Welcome! I’m Bridge.

I believe that healing comes from being courageous enough to show up as your whole self.

It can be hard to imagine letting yourself just be… You. As a queer/a-spec person living in the Midwest who’s gone through my trauma-healing journey myself, I understand that struggle on a heart level.

My entire goal is to offer you a non-judgmental space where you can explore and get to know those parts of you that you find scary so you can heal and feel like your own best friend. For life.

Working together, we’ll dive into conversations and utilize methods like EMDR to help you challenge the things the rest of the world has taught you to believe about yourself. We’ll laugh together, cry together, and help you develop the skills to thrive.

Your story matters. You should feel like it does, and I can help you get there.

“Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing we’ll ever do.”

– Brené Brown

My Specialties

LGBT+ Affirmative Therapy

The LGBTQIA+ experience can be joyful. Sometimes we just need extra help to find and create spaces where we can experience it fully.

Asexuality and Aromanticism

Explore what it means to be aromantic and/or asexual with someone that has the same lived experiences as yourself.

Trauma and EMDR

Our past often makes our present even more difficult. Trauma therapies like EMDR can help put the past where it belongs - In the past.

Self-Esteem

You already have everything you need. Let’s work together to find all the good you already have within you (even if you don’t believe it’s there yet).

Work on your healing journey in-person in Springfield or online anywhere in Missouri.

My in-person office at The Living Room Wellness Center offers a big, comfy couch, lots of tea, and a warm atmosphere for our conversations. Availability for this office depends on scheduling availability.

Online, I utilize Psychology Today’s HIPAA-compliant video session platform. Online sessions can be done if scheduling does not align for in-person sessions, and offers you the ability to get support from the comfort of your own home!

Think we might be a good fit?

  • We might work well together if:

    • You’re invested in your care and want accountability for your goals.

    • You love learning about how our minds and bodies work to create better mental health.

    • Hard work to get deep, lifelong healing doesn’t scare you.

    • Humor and storytelling help you feel connected to others.

If these sound good to you, please reach out - I would love to hear from you!

Let’s get started. Here’s how it works.

  1. Connect.

I make it easy with a quick contact form and a fifteen-minute consultation call where we’ll briefly talk about what’s going on and see if we’ll be a good fit. If not, don’t worry - I’ll help you find someone else who can help!

  2. Collaborate.

If we decide it’s a match, we’ll get started with getting to know you and your goals for therapy. I’ll walk with you every step of the way towards accomplishing the growth you seek. You decide where you want to go. My only job is to be a guide.

  3. Create.

There will be times where our work together will be uncomfortable, but never unsafe. With the tools and insights you gain from our work together, you’ll be able to create a life that feels fulfilling both inside and out.
